Sema Hakkı

Prof. Dr. Sema Hakkı graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Dentistry in 1994 and completed her PhD in Periodontology at the same institution in 1999. She conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Michigan under TÜBİTAK scholarships and continued her academic career at Selçuk University Faculty of Dentistry, where she became Associate Professor in 2006 and Professor in 2011. In 2021-2022, she served as a visiting research professor at the University of Michigan within the TÜBİTAK BİDEB 2219 program.

She has participated in numerous nationally and internationally funded research projects and has published over 100 scientific articles with a significant citation record. Her primary research interests include stem cells, periodontal and bone regeneration, growth and differentiation factors, laser applications in dentistry, and the effects of boron and selenium on oral and bone health. She is the holder of two patents and has received multiple national and international awards.
